United Way Southwest Louisiana to Process Entergy Bill Assistance Applications for Three Louisiana Regions

Applications for eligible Entergy Louisiana customers in Southwest Louisiana, Central Louisiana and South Louisiana open Wednesday, October 28, at 9 a.m.

Lake Charles, LA— Following Entergy Louisiana's announcement this morning of a $2 million statewide utility bill assistance initiative, United Way Southwest Louisiana is preparing to open applications for eligible Entergy Louisiana residential customers in Southwest Louisiana, Central Louisiana and South Louisiana.

Applications open Wednesday, October 28, at 9 a.m. at https://unitedwayswla.org/entergy-bill.

While Entergy Louisiana's program is statewide, United Way Southwest Louisiana will host and process applications for eligible customers in the parishes served by United Way Southwest Louisiana, United Way of Central Louisiana and United Way for South Louisiana.

"This assistance comes at a time when many families are struggling to keep up with everyday expenses," said Denise Durel, President and CEO of United Way Southwest Louisiana. "For ALICE households, those who work but earn less than the cost of basic necessities, even a $100 credit can make a meaningful difference. We appreciate Entergy Louisiana's investment in families across our state and the opportunity to work with our fellow United Ways to help make this assistance available."

Entergy Louisiana's support of United Way's ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) Initiative reflects a shared commitment to understanding and addressing the financial challenges facing working households. ALICE data shows how many families earn above the federal poverty level but still struggle to afford housing, childcare, food, transportation and utilities. United Way Southwest Louisiana provides local ALICE data, including parish and community-level information, to help residents, employers and community leaders better understand these challenges and identify opportunities for solutions. Learn more and explore local ALICE data at https://unitedwayswla.org/ALICE.

Residents in the three participating United Way regions are encouraged to visit the website now to review eligibility requirements, income guidelines and required documentation. Applicants should prepare their most recent Entergy Louisiana bill, photo identification and proof of household income before applications open.

Funding is limited, and submitting an application does not guarantee assistance. Applications must be complete and accurate to be considered. Approved applicants will receive a one-time $100 credit applied directly to their Entergy Louisiana accounts. Credits may take up to 90 days to appear.

For eligibility information and to apply beginning Wednesday, October 28 at 9 a.m., visit https://unitedwayswla.org/entergy-bill.

Residents outside these three United Way regions should visit Entergy Louisiana's website for information about assistance opportunities in their area.
